Software Engineer

talabat, the leading on-demand food and Q-commerce app for everyday deliveries, is seeking a skilled software engineer to join our engineering team. Our engineering culture focuses on shortening feedback loops, maintaining high quality, and developing product-minded engineers to solve customer problems effectively.

In this role, you will:

• Participate in continuous discovery of customer/business needs/desires/problems alongside your cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) to drive desired outcomes.
• Design, write, and release software solutions to address end-to-end problems in your business domain, delivering value in small batches while adhering to our engineering standards.
• Understand the scalability and complexity of your services, owning and innovating throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Support optimization of your team’s practices to enhance its self-organization and continuous improvement.
• Critically assess and simplify our tech organization systems, processes, and solutions.

Qualifications

• Understanding of lean/agile values & principles and associated practices.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably within an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring) with predominant languages being .NET, Golang, and C#.
• Experience in testing with a focus on automated end-to-end quality.
• Familiarity with Distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience in building, maintaining, and improving with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery.
