Responsibilities
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Install various electrical equipment systems onboard vessels;
• Maintain plant electrical machinery and marine works;
• Overhaul electrical equipment;
• Trouble shoot and repair electrical equipment;
• Check and repair engine alarm and monitoring systems;
• Make alarm panels;
• Handle generator synchronization and load sharing systems;
• Repair generators, navigation lights, steering controls, bow thrusters, etc.;
• Inspect and test main switchboards;
• Operate stress relieving machines, prepare reports, and measure hardness;
• Ensure all necessary information is available to carry out assigned duties;
• Report all reworks to the Quality Department;
• Notify the Production Manager of any schedule deviations and report any anticipated risks and issues, repetitive unsolved problems, misconduct of team members, or unsafe acts;
• Follow the Production Manager’s instructions regarding work execution and objectives implementation while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained;
• Coordinate and cooperate with personnel from other sections to meet deadlines;
• Advise on procedural improvements and recommend materials/equipment for purchase to enhance efficiency and uphold high safety and quality standards in the shipyard;
• Attend daily production toolbox meetings on time and ensure goals are met and issues addressed;
• Commit to continuous self-development and improvement;
• Maintain cleanliness at the work location (workshop or site) daily;
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition;
• Use the complete set of PPE, including a helmet, coverall, gloves, goggles, ear plugs, and any specific protective equipment during working hours;
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and comply with the division's HSSE, Quality Assurance procedures, and Quality Manuals;
• Report to the line manager if no work assignment is issued daily;
• Perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Mission and Vision core values;
• Undertake other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualification:
Diploma ITI certificate or similar in electrical trade.
Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar trade;
- Heavy industry experience in electrical equipment is a must;
- Shipyard experience is preferred.
Geographic Experience:
N/A
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge will be an added advantage.
Language Skills:
Working knowledge of English/Hindi is required.
