Position

This is a fast-paced engineering role focused on Linux-based software-defined infrastructure and applications. The position encompasses all layers of the stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker and LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), and networking (OVS, OVN, Core networking), extending up to OpenStack and Kubernetes, along with the open source applications operating on them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes
  • Maintain close working relationships with the company's field, support, and product engineering teams
  • Participate in upstream communities and debug issues
  • Propose workarounds and collaborate with Software Engineers to produce patches
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in technical methods
  • Manage time effectively against priorities
  • Contribute to team activities for process improvement
  • Maintain clear and concise technical communications
  • Provide subject matter expertise as the final escalation point for operational issues

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience troubleshooting advanced Linux issues
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
  • Strong experience with Linux, LXD, OpenStack, Ceph, or Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in debugging with Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux
  • Familiarity with gdb, pdb, tcpdump, and git source code repositories
  • Willingness to travel for internal events

Additional Skills:

  • Passion for technology and collaboration with skilled individuals
  • Curiosity, flexibility, articulation, and accountability
  • Experience with Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and related technologies is a plus
