As a Technical Manager – Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, you will manage the technical lifecycle of relevant technologies and services. Your responsibilities will include designing, engineering, planning, implementing, operating, and supporting these technologies, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply with corporate policy and standards. You will also provide documented operational processes and procedures for support groups and act as a center of excellence for the respective technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define KPIs for teams in line with departmental goals and objectives, ensuring timely and accurate communication of reports and updates.
- Ensure technologies comply with corporate security policies, managing audit observations and risks effectively. Implement security patches promptly.
- Provide 3rd level support for technology environments, ensuring efficient root cause analysis and avoidance of recurring incidents.
- Collaborate closely with all IT teams to deliver products and services that contribute to organizational growth.
- Set clear performance objectives, implement management plans, and ensure a high-performance culture is maintained within the team.
- Identify and develop new products or services by creating business cases and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Manage team and technology budgets, ensuring financial transparency and informed decision-making.
- Work with vendor management teams to monitor SLAs and ensure value in contracts.
- Provide technical consultancy and guidance to team members and other stakeholders, defining architecture strategy and standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing technologies and drive projects through assigned project managers.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of AWS and Azure public cloud platforms, with proven capability to drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Expertise in modernizing private cloud environments by aligning them with public cloud paradigms.
- Deep expertise in Private and Public Cloud engineering and a track record of operating large-scale hybrid cloud platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud adoption engineering, infrastructure design patterns, and operational governance.
- Excellent knowledge of VMware technologies, including deep hands-on expertise with vSphere, vSAN, and NSX-T.
- Strong grounding in IT Security, Cyber Defence, and infrastructure protection methodologies.
- Experience designing and operating Observability platforms for monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
- Strong expertise in Hyperscale Hybrid Cloud technologies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
