Position

The job involves providing Systems Engineering development and integration for UAV projects.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Training:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing autonomous systems or aerospace technologies, including system architecture and product development.
  • A degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of V-cycle, product development, verification and validation (V&V), and the change management process, specifically ARP4754.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty, demonstrating adaptability and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in systems integration, testing, and performance evaluation is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute the V-model design process for ADASI unmanned systems, including performing system and subsystem trade studies.
  • Define and track requirements in the unmanned system development process from use case definition to subsystem requirement derivation.
  • Provide support for mission, Concept of Operations (ConOps), and Operational Concepts (OpsCon).
  • Work closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate with logistics/product support development and safety to ensure that specialist engineering capability fields such as reliability, maintainability, transportability, producibility, etc., are implemented in the design.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of test plans and evaluation criteria for UAV systems.
  • Develop new features for the system by creating models, tools, and processes throughout the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the team and Project Manager to manage technical risks effectively.
  • Liaise with stakeholders on technical matters and conduct design reviews ensuring the closure of action items.
  • Produce technical documentation, data packages, and perform peer reviews.
  • Create and maintain system architecture that meets the required specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Software in the Loop (SILS) and Hardware in the Loop (HILS) software validation.
  • Familiarity with aircraft software and hardware certification processes (DO-178C & DO-254).
  • Previous experience with autonomous systems encompassing avionics, power systems, flight controllers, data links, actuators, and sensors.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the UAV domain.
  • Understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies in UAV and autonomous systems.
