About the Job
AWS Security is seeking an experienced cybersecurity leader to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation with the highest levels of security and resilience on AWS cloud infrastructure. You will lead a local team of cybersecurity and compliance experts and engage with various internal stakeholders, regulators, and Saudi customers to achieve secure and successful outcomes. Collaborating with teams across AWS, you will help deliver the highest standards of security and compliance for AWS customers in the Kingdom.

The team consists of professionals with a diverse background in national security and the private sector, fostering creative problem-solving. Understanding that there are no "perfect" security solutions, we focus on continuous improvement processes.

This position requires some local and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team overseeing compliance and security for AWS in Saudi Arabia.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for inquiries and compliance with local regulatory obligations and information security matters.
  • Conduct hands-on coordination of cybersecurity engagements with internal and external customers to address security concerns and requirements.
  • Ensure security policies and procedures are documented and comply with contractual requirements and local laws.
  • Engage proactively with KSA regulators and security organizations, including the National Cybersecurity Authority and other relevant government bodies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Cybersecurity, Technology Policy, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of IT security audit, compliance, and/or relevant regulatory experience, with 5+ years in management.
  • 5+ years’ experience working directly with senior government officials on security, compliance, technology, or related policy issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Saudi Arabia's privacy, security, and resilience requirements across government, financial services, and national critical infrastructure.
  • Understanding of evaluating the design and effectiveness of security controls.
  • Experience with sensitive or classified government systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
