Description

The Growth Markets and Emerging Channels (GMEC) team is seeking an exceptional Principal, Tech Business Development, Growth Markets, to act as a senior strategic growth and transformation leader in Middle East/Africa (MEA). This individual will lead the strategic PMO and internal consulting function, including managing engagements for cross-Amazon team projects, identifying new growth/adoption opportunities, and working alongside regional teams, developing partners and transforming the region.

The right leader will have an growth mindset with an extensive understanding of cross-cultural communication, partnerships, products, and cloud. The role requires top-tier written and verbal communication with deep collaboration across senior leadership to formulate comprehensive business strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Activities include building and executing global partner strategies with internal specialist and service teams, getting feedback from partners on our services, helping partners innovate with our services, and unblocking challenges that our partners face in realizing business growth. You will be responsible for measuring the success of the strategies and overall market adoption of partner solutions and capabilities. You will also serve as an AMZN subject matter expert aligned to support broader internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing, communicating and driving successful partnership initiatives at scale as well as a sales or business development background with demonstrated experience driving innovation in emerging technologies, capability development, operations, product development, and consulting, and managed services. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and possesses a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business and technical challenges, as well as, a strong ability to dive deep into data to surface patterns and uncover business opportunities.

Key job responsibilities

  • Experience selling and delivering global multi-tower customer transformations to Fortune 1000 customers.
  • Drive strategic planning, including industry analysis and competitor assessments, in-depth customer segmentation, and trend analysis to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
  • Looking around corners to identify strategic imperatives and developing a vision for joint ambitions with partners and customers.
  • Collaborate with Partner, GS, and AGS and leadership to formulate comprehensive business plans and strategies for cross-team efforts that are aligned with meeting or exceeding organizational goals.
  • Evaluate and enhance operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Oversee initiative engagement, including tracking and senior leader feedback mechanisms.
  • Communicate partner feedback to internal teams from different stages of their development including practice development, offering/solution development, enablement, and leveraging AWS programs.
  • Develop and reporting on insights from revenue, funnel development, and opportunity registration, and business reviews with partners to exceed annual goals.
  • Operate with an aggressive growth mindset, identifying and communicating strategies for partner development and customer acquisition that will yield outsized returns.
  • Engage with chief executives and senior members at customers and partners
  • Serve as subject matter expert who advocates for Amazon partner capabilities internally and externally.
  • Conduct yourself as a considerate and conscientious teammate to the peers and colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
  • Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing innovation through a partner ecosystem with either solutions or programs that have demonstrated success at enterprise customers
