About
Amazon launched the Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC) in June 2023 to help AWS customers accelerate the use of generative AI to solve business and operational problems and promote innovation in their organizations. This team comprises strategists, data scientists, engineers, and solution architects who work step-by-step with customers to build bespoke solutions that leverage the power of generative AI.

We are seeking Data Scientists capable of using generative AI and other techniques to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for previously unsolvable problems. You will engage directly with customers and innovate in a fast-paced environment that drives game-changing projects and technologies. Your responsibilities will include designing and running experiments, researching new algorithms, and optimizing risk, profitability, and customer experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with AI/ML scientists, engineers, and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms addressing real-world challenges.
  • Interact with customers directly to understand their business problems, aiding in the implementation of generative AI solutions, and delivering briefings and deep dives to guide them on adoption patterns and paths to production.
  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction.

About The Team:
The Generative AI Innovation Center team helps customers imagine and scope use cases that create the greatest value for their businesses, select and fine-tune the right models, and develop proof-of-concepts. The team also guides customers on best practices for applying generative AI responsibly and cost-effectively.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and several years of experience.
  • Several years of relevant experience in building large-scale machine learning or deep learning models.
  • Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, or high-performance computing.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a highly quantitative field.
  • Practical experience in solving complex problems in an applied environment.
  • Experience in training and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Knowledge of the AWS platform and tools.
