About The Job:

The FSTD Support Engineer II will be responsible for the support and maintenance of Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs) ensuring they are operational and up to standards. This full-time role based in Dubai involves direct engagement in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. The engineer will also take on leadership roles such as Shift Lead or Team Lead, coordinate maintenance tasks, and provide mentorship to junior colleagues while working collaboratively with technical specialists on projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Support Flight Simulator Training Devices:

    • Attend maintenance calls, setup devices, assist during Simulator Flight Tests, and support snag clearance activities.
  2. Preventive Maintenance:

    • Perform tasks like Daily Readiness (DR) and Recurrent QTG runs, Aircraft Database (ADB) updates, and IOS Lesson Plan (LP) updates, ensuring compliance with standards and timely closure of deficiencies.
  3. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:

    • Diagnose and resolve training device issues, perform hardware refurbishments, and monitor updates through the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  4. Leadership Roles:

    • May take on roles such as Shift Lead or Team Lead. Manage assigned roles autonomously, create and update procedures for various tasks.
  5. Collaboration & Projects:

    • Work with FSTD Technical Specialists on troubleshooting and testing, and handle special projects as required.
  6. Mentorship:

    • Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to junior colleagues and pursue knowledge to become a technical expert in FSTD systems.
  7. Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards and ensure safe working procedures.

Shift Lead / Team Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Task Coordination:

    • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance tasks, generate reports, and ensure compliance with KPIs.
  2. Performance Monitoring:

    • Actively participate in meetings, audits, and evaluations, ensuring timely clearance of critical issues.
  3. Employee Development:

    • Assist in performance evaluations and employee development, mentoring engineers and technicians.
