Position

As a Junior Simulator Engineer/Technician, you will support all training center operations activities to provide smooth, efficient, and high-quality service at a brand-new Training Center located in Dubai, UAE. Your role will help achieve CAE's goal of providing world-class flight simulator training center operations aligned with CAE’s Vision as a global training partner of choice to enhance safety, efficiency, and readiness in all aspects of training center operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support technical and operational aspects of the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices as applicable.
  • Attend flight crew and maintenance calls, perform daily readiness, conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, and support the running of Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
  • Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues and AOGs.
  • Identify recurring issues and pursue permanent solutions to improve maintenance procedures related to various training devices.
  • Support recurrent minor updates of Nav DB, Terr DB, OIS & EFB Charts, Documents, and Performance Data.
  • Maintain, track, and request consumable items and tools required for PMTs and Daily Readiness.
  • Assist with logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, and preparation for shipping.
  • Pursue knowledge and skills to become a technical expert in one or more simulator systems (e.g., Visual, Motion, Flight Controls).

Ideal Candidate:

  • Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field with 1 to 3 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (read, spoken, and written).
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to establish effective relationships with customers.
  • Good working knowledge of computer architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
  • Basic background in Hardware and Software and familiarity with FSTD technical issues, including motion, visual, avionics, and dynamics of flight.
  • Understanding of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family).
  • Knowledge of local and international (EASA, ENAC, etc.) regulations regarding FSTDs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
