Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, particularly known for its platform, Ubuntu. We are looking for an Associate Linux Support Engineer to support our technical needs as we grow. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers passionate about Linux and open source technologies. You will tackle complex technical issues and provide an exceptional support experience across cloud, desktop, and IoT environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing remote technical support for employees.
  • Managing a portfolio of support cases through effective communication and timely updates.
  • Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles.
  • Drafting technical notices for both internal and external communication.
  • Learning continuously as products evolve and collaborating closely with team members.
  • Participating in a regular weekend working rotation.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Exceptional academic track record and preferably an undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration.
  • Basic hands-on knowledge in programming (with any language such as bash, Python, etc.) and networking.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a customer-oriented approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A commitment to diversity and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
