As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will deliver top-notch technical support on the entire cloud technical stack at Canonical, combining your Linux support and software engineering skills. Your tasks will include supporting customized solutions for customers using Linux virtualization, containers, and Kubernetes, as well as providing expertise on popular open source software like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Apache.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of Linux virtualization, containers, and TCP/IP networking to support customized customer solutions.
- Act as the technical authority on popular open source tools and software.
- Provide architectural advice and support for complex problems, guiding customers in data-center infrastructure operations.
- Maintain regular communication with customer teams regarding ongoing issues.
What We Are Looking For:
- A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Open source development or scripting experience.
- Professional experience with OpenStack is a strong plus; experience with Kubernetes and/or Ceph is also desirable.
- Fluency in English is required; excellent communication and customer-facing skills are essential.
- High motivation, ability to multi-task, and reliability in following up on commitments.
- Willingness to learn new technologies including LXD, Snaps, MAAS, Juju, and Ubuntu.
- Ability to travel as needed.
