We are seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to deliver exceptional technical support on the complete cloud technical stack at Canonical. This role combines Linux support and software engineering skills with a passion for technology. You will support customers in optimizing their solutions with Canonical, focusing on everything related to open source from Ubuntu Server and Desktop to OpenStack and Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of Linux virtualization using Libvirt/KVM, containers, and Kubernetes to support customized solutions.
- Act as the technical authority, demonstrating expertise with popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, Corosync/Pacemaker, MongoDB, MySQL, and Apache.
- Provide architectural advice, implement solutions for complex issues, and guide customers in successful data-center infrastructure operations.
- Regularly communicate with customer teams regarding ongoing issues.
What We Are Looking For:
- A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Open source development or scripting experience.
- Professional experience with OpenStack is a strong advantage.
- Professional experience with Kubernetes and/or Ceph.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills with extensive experience in customer-facing roles.
- High motivation, ability to multi-task and reliably follow-up on commitments.
- A willingness to learn new technologies, including LXD, Snaps, MAAS, Juju, and Ubuntu.
- Willingness to travel.
