Position

We are seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to enhance our presence in mission-critical industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco, alongside Consumer Electronics. This role involves engaging with customers during presales to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver selected projects related to Embedded Linux. You will also communicate market requirements to key stakeholders while acting as both a customer advocate and trusted advisor.

This position is full-time and remote, although candidates must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain technology.
  • Propose solutions to prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of Embedded Linux projects.
  • Convey market requirements to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Canonical.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux, particularly Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, RTOS).
  • Fluency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; additional fluency in local language for candidates in Japan and Korea is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Result-oriented and ability to multitask.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with customer engagements is a plus but not required.
