Engineering Manager - Ceph & Distributed Storage

The world creates more than 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day! Canonical aims to help teams store data in open source storage on commodity hardware—safely, cheaply, and simply. The goal is to make Ceph easy to install, manage, and use, catering to both large enterprise data center installations and half-rack edge sites. As an Engineering Manager, your role requires exceptional technical skills and the ability to run an effective team while fostering professional growth among the engineers you manage.

Your responsibilities include leading a team to build a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution, developing a globally distributed team of engineers, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring sound software architecture alongside best practices in software quality, testing, and documentation.

Who You Are:

• Background in software engineering, preferably with experience in Python and C++.
• Experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
• Passionate about developing and growing your team's capabilities.
• Knowledgeable about software development and experienced in agile environments.

Work Conditions:
Full-time, Remote with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events
