Position

The role of an Enterprise Project Manager at Canonical involves supporting the company's mission to streamline and accelerate the adoption of open source technologies across the global enterprise market. Project Managers are responsible for ensuring project success by owning, driving, communicating with, and engaging stakeholders, while valuing integrity and accountability. They handle a portfolio of complex projects that require exceptional Project Management skills to enhance customer and partner satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage IT project management in software engineering and/or information technology.
  • Lead cross-cultural, remote, and global project teams.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively while managing risks and project success.
  • Drive process improvement and software engineering project management.

Requirements:

  • Solid IT project management experience, particularly in software engineering or IT.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in leading diverse and remote project teams across different cultures.
  • Agile expertise and Project Management certification.
  • Degree level education in Computer Science or a STEM field; MBA or similar qualification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel for 6-8 weeks a year, up to two weeks at a time, sometimes internationally.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours when needed.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience with hiring and managing teams.
  • Strong commercial skills, particularly in dealing with contracts.
  • Effective negotiation skills, especially in customer-facing roles for complex projects.
