We are seeking an Observability Engineering Manager to lead the development of our distributed tracing or service mesh products within the Observability group. As an Engineering Manager, you will be a coding leader who guides both architecture and code development, while also being a strong judge of character, setting expectations, and holding team members accountable.
Our vision includes developing an observability stack that simplifies deployment and operational tasks on Kubernetes, aligned with our goal of delivering an outstanding suite of open-source tools. This encompasses comprehensive solutions for metrics, logging, telemetry, alerting, tracing, and profiling, making observability integral to software practices.
In this role, you will manage a distributed team of engineers, oversee team processes, engage in one-on-one meetings, assess team health, review code, and represent Canonical at conferences.
