Position

We are hiring a Jira Software Engineer to manage the Atlassian stack at Canonical. This role requires responsibilities in administration, configuration, automation, and integration of the Atlassian ecosystem. The objective is to enable our engineering and business teams to leverage the power of Atlassian Jira effectively, allowing them to work on challenging assignments and facilitate data-driven decisions.

The role will be part of the Commercial Systems team which integrates critical business systems at Canonical, ensuring reliable data flows and automating business processes across the company. The team works with popular SaaS solutions, including Jira, Salesforce, and others, utilizing technologies like Python and Go, alongside open-source tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire Atlassian Cloud ecosystem at Canonical.
  • Design, document, and implement processes and automation in Jira.
  • Create integrations between Jira and the data warehouse.
  • Develop analytical dashboards to support data-driven decisions.
  • Produce scalable learning resources.
  • Collaborate globally with engineering, operations, and support teams.
  • Address critical escalations in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic background.
  • Experience in Atlassian Jira as an administrator.
  • Understanding of common Jira usage patterns across various departments.
  • Software development experience in Python.
  • Proficiency in professional written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with process architecture.
  • Familiarity with complex cross-project automation.

Language Requirements:

  • Professional written and spoken English is essential.
