  • Automate software operations for reusability and consistency across different cloud environments.
  • Maintain operational responsibility for all of Canonical's core services, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Develop expertise in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance investigation.
  • Use observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch to design, implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Mentor team members through design sessions and collaborative work.
  • Manage time-critical escalations effectively.

Requirements:

  • Modern perspective on hosting architecture driven by infrastructure as code.
  • Strong product mindset focused on developing effective products.
  • Experience in Python software development and managing large projects.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems.
  • Proven experience in deploying cloud infrastructure using code.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
  • Experience administering enterprise Linux servers.
  • Extensive understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Motivated, flexible, and able to troubleshoot effectively.
  • A passion for and familiarity with open-source technologies, especially Ubuntu or Debian.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation based on location, experience, and performance, with annual reviews.
  • Performance-driven bonuses and additional benefits reflecting company values.
  • Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.
  • Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.
  • Recognition rewards and annual holiday leave.
  • Maternity and paternity leave.
