We serve numerous enterprise customers, including top public cloud and silicon providers.

We are seeking a Software Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work across various layers of the Linux-based infrastructure and applications, including virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and the open source applications that run on them. This position will challenge you to leverage your engineering skills to resolve critical issues within the open source stack, providing valuable assistance to our customers, partners, and the Ubuntu community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes.
  • Maintaining a working relationship with Canonical's support and engineering teams.
  • Participating in upstream communities for bug fixes and patches.
  • Reviewing code and contributing to technical discussions.

Requirements:

  • An exceptional academic background in Computer Science or STEM.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages on Linux: Python, Go, C, or C++.
  • A desire to learn about unfamiliar technologies and deep-dive into complex issues.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for team events.

  • Passion for technology and collaboration with talented individuals.
  • Curious, flexible, and articulate with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Interest in learning about Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and distributed systems.
