Data Engineer

About the Job: As a Data Engineer at Cognizant, you will be responsible for the following: - Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. - Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements. - Build the infrastructure required for the optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources. - Collaborate closely with the data science team to help build complex algorithms and data tools that provide analytics and unique insights into their data. - Use agile software development processes to make iterative improvements to back-end systems. - Model front-end and back-end data sources to provide comprehensive insights into user flows and enable robust data analysis. - Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources. - Develop models to make predictions and answer questions for the overall business. Experience Required: - A minimum of 5 years of related experience. - Practical knowledge across data extraction and transformation tools. - Extensive experience with Big Data tools and building data solutions for advanced analytics. Skills Required: - Mastery of SQL scripting. - Strong communication skills, especially for explaining technical concepts to non-technical business leaders. - Solid business and collaboration skills, responsive to service needs and operational demands.
