Data Privacy Expert

About the Job: The Data Privacy Expert (Subject Matter Expert) will be responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of the global data protection compliance strategy for Cognizant customers. This role is integral to the Cognizant business team and requires close collaboration with the Data Protection & Privacy (DPP) team and other Cognizant members. Key personal attributes important for this role include strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders in the context of data protection and privacy.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist in implementing and maintaining a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
• Assist in creating and maintaining privacy-related notices, policies, standards, guidelines, and processes.
• Develop, document, and assess appropriate metrics and KPIs of the Data Protection & Privacy program.
• Provide advice and guidance to the DPP Team regarding Data Protection & Privacy.
• Offer deep technical privacy guidance, analysis, and feedback to stakeholders.
• Help develop, implement, and manage processes and internal controls related to privacy frameworks.
• Collaborate with the DPP team concerning compliance with data protection and privacy laws.
• Liaise with business stakeholders for various tracks such as DPIA, RoPA, and DSR.
• Manage the team and deliver deliverables as per the project plan.
• Create plans for tracks to be maintained.
• Prepare presentations and reports as required by customers.
• Conduct stand-up meetings and status meetings with both customers and internal teams.
• Assist in developing and administering privacy training and awareness campaigns for various groups within the company.
• Maintain a strong client service orientation and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
