About the Job
Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Senior Talend Architect/Senior Tech Lead to join our team in Hartford, CT. This role requires 13 to 17 years of experience in data warehousing, Talend administration, ETL processes, data integration, SQL, Databricks, and Unix Shell Scripting. The ideal candidate will also have mandatory experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain. This position operates on a hybrid work model with day shifts and no travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of the Talend Administration Centre to ensure efficient ETL processes.
- Provide expertise in scheduling basics for timely execution of ETL jobs and data integration tasks.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Talend ETL to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Use Databricks Scripting to automate data processing tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Utilize SQL for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple sources into a unified repository.
- Use Unix Shell Scripting to automate data processing tasks and enhance system efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing robust data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to promptly identify and resolve issues.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster their professional growth.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data warehousing and ETL technologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture and integration processes for enhanced system performance.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts applicable to business intelligence.
- Proficiency in the Talend Administration Centre for managing ETL processes.
- Strong grasp of scheduling basics for efficient execution of data integration tasks.
- Expertise in ETL processes, particularly using Talend ETL to maintain data accuracy.
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Experience in data integration techniques to consolidate data from diverse sources.
- Skills in Unix Shell Scripting for automating data processing tasks.
- Solid understanding of the Property & Casualty Insurance domain for aligning technical solutions with business needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve ETL process issues.
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Contribution potential towards the continuous improvement of data architecture and integration processes.
- Effective collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Certifications Required
- Talend Data Integration Certification (Good to have)
- Databricks Scripting Certification (Good to have)
Salary and Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges between $140,000 and $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, which is performance-based.
