About
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Applications Manager to join our dynamic IT team to manage, oversee, and support our internal business applications. The position holds the responsibility to lead the design, development, testing, planning, budgeting, and implementation of complex systems and services that typically affect many employees and internal stakeholders.

This role requires close collaboration with project sponsors, business and technical partners, subject matter experts, end users, technical resources (both internal and third-party vendors), senior management, and executives. The goal is to ensure that the needs of business users are fully addressed while continuously improving application performance.

The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of IT skills, focusing on technical issues, with a solid knowledge of current hardware and software processes, as well as keeping an eye on upcoming products. A strong understanding of business operations, along with business intuition, is important for anticipating needs and managing time effectively under pressure. Responsibilities

  • Manage an application portfolio and associated projects for various internal applications, both on-premise and in the cloud.
  • Identify opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or process improvement with a focus on collaboration systems and internal tools.
  • Research, procure, and manage software applications that contribute to the success of the company.
  • Lead and manage the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of tools and systems across departments.
  • Establish protocols for software applications ensuring ease of use for internal business users.
  • Oversee upgrades for servers, hardware, and software.
  • Report on operational issues to senior management, end users, and stakeholders.
  • Manage financial budgets for specific projects and day-to-day running of departments.
  • Lead vendor and internal teams during project implementation and support phases.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding innovations and best practices.
  • Inspire and motivate teams while providing direction and managing performance.
  • Ensure seamless integration of applications from different vendors through testing and coordination.
  • Maintain process flows, descriptions, and data flow diagrams by consulting with business, vendors, and IT infra teams.
  • Manage new internal business system implementations, requirements gathering, and documentation.
  • Resolve all functional-related issues and coordinate with all stakeholders.
  • Manage a team of internal resources and third-party vendors for effective project execution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks proactively.
  • Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders and external contractors.

Computer / Technical Skills

  • Experience with Java platforms, website and web content management systems, Dot Net framework, open-source platforms, and product lifecycle management software (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, CRM, APIs, Azure data factory.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and modern architecture concepts.
  • Experience with workflow and document management software, and DevOps code management using cloud-based solutions.
  • Proficient in MS Office solutions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of information security and GRC protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, web design, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an Applications Manager or similar role, preferably supporting SaaS applications.
  • 2+ years of vendor management experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with application implementations, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Proven experience in system design, databases, and project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of ongoing personal development in IT and business skills.
