Overview
The Senior Manager – DC Network will be responsible for coordinating the work of L3 support during complex network incidents/failures, ensuring root cause analysis is carried out with the team. This position entails managing the data centre network including monitoring its performance, overseeing capacity planning, and coordinating upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating the work of L3 support in case of complex network incidents that include multiple network areas expertise. Supports L3 engineers to meet SLA requirements.
- Coordination with Network Operations, assuring they are involved and advised in design, planning of capacity and planning of orders for equipment.
- Working closely with team of Network Architects and Engineers to approve DC Network (DCN) designs and strategies to develop the network.
- Working internally with Procurement and Finance departments to understand the cost structure and contribute to the cost optimization.
- Leading communication with Vendors regarding the designs, technology roadmaps and application requirements related to DC network design.
- Coordinating Network Architects and Engineers in process of vendor and solution assessment.
- DC Network planning and approval to meet performance requirements in future. Quality control of Architecture and Engineering solutions.
- Approval of BOQ for network devices and cabling.
- Planning DC Interconnectivity solution and SD-WAN connectivity solution (international and domestique)
- Planning inter-connectivity with hyperscalers
- Approval and creation of SOW documents, coordination with Sales teams
- Planning and approval of complex network tests such as inter-AZ availability
- Planning and approval of complex change requests, maintenance windows and deployments which includes vital network traffic flows (i.e. WAN Block migration, ISP migration...)
- Defining engineering resources for DC network delivery and coordinating the requirements with other G42 teams and Project managers.
- Managing and evaluating team member’s performance in terms of setting KPIs to align the personal and team goals.
- Attending internal meetings, communication within the organization through official tools
- Attending courses, trainings and education.
- Getting certified in networking and cloud networking area up to expert level (certified expert)
- Creating presentation for Client meetings, attends meeting with client.
Qualifications
Available as a point of escalation for L3 support and Operations team Responsible to protect confidentiality of credentials and authentication tokens at all time. Responsible to protect confidentiality for Vendor contacts and technology strategy. Responsible for complex Change request review or approvals through ticketing system Responsible for approved designs and solutions in terms of cost, performance, scalability and reliability. Responsible for the project/task delivery in timely manner, in case of predictable delay responsible for escalation to Team lead or PMO. Responsible for delivered network solution which passed point-in-time UAT. Responsible for Incident reports about incidents that exceeded agreed SLA. Comply with applicable laws, regulations, international standards and related G42 Policies and Procedures. Comply with G42 Acceptable Use Policy, attend mandatory information security, privacy, and business continuity trainings for himself and team. Report information security, HSE etc. incidents or suspect incidents through G42 established incident reporting channels. Maintain confidentiality of information and classify and handle information ad per G42 Policies and Procedures.
