About the Job
The Wintel System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related Windows infrastructure. This role encompasses all technology, including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware and software. Key areas of focus include cloud support, cloud infrastructure monitoring in Azure/AWS/G42, as well as security, deployment pipeline, and change management.
Core42 serves as the UAE’s national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI, integrating advanced expertise across various technology disciplines to facilitate public sector and large enterprise transformations. We leverage our capabilities as a sovereign cloud and HPC specialist to deliver generative AI, cybersecurity, and managed services solutions across multiple industries.
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with Azure, M365, Windows Cluster, File Server, DFS, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
- Experience building, managing, and upgrading VMware virtualization environments.
- Monitoring system performance and capacity planning.
- Remote management of servers through ILO, DRAC, and RSA.
- Experience in IT operations, Windows Administration, Windows Server patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Resolving incident tickets and managing OS-related security and vulnerability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop automation strategies and processes.
- Administration of Windows-based Servers (Win 2K12/2K16/2K19/2K22) and server hardware management.
- Support and configuration of on-prem and cloud servers, including security configurations and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, Firewall, Proxy Servers, etc.).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience.
- Certifications: AZ-104, AZ-900, Microsoft MCSA in Windows Server 2012R2 or 2016, Microsoft MCSA in Office 365 and SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate.
Experience:
- 8+ years as Wintel or Cloud administrator.
- Strong experience in Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Windows Server, Azure, and AWS.
- Previous experience in a help desk support or troubleshooting role, particularly in a 24/7 managed services environment.
- Experience with Kubernetes, networking subnetting, routing, and firewalls.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Cloud Services, including Azure and Active Directory environments.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, VMWare).
- Strong understanding of internet protocols, LAN/WAN networking, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL or other databases and familiarity with VMWare and SAN management.
- Solid networking knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
