The Systems Architect specializing in Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions plays a crucial role in planning and executing complex projects. This position focuses on developing secure, cost-efficient, and scalable platform architecture blueprints for both public and private cloud environments. A deep understanding of architecture and the integration capabilities of cloud platforms, middleware, and services is essential.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Communicate architectural decisions and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare, review, and maintain high-level and low-level design documents, scopes of work, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Align solutions with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Create architectural blueprints and technical documentation for proposed solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration of PaaS platforms and solutions with OpenStack, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other private cloud and/or HPC services.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of PaaS Solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Oversee the integration of PaaS solutions with existing systems and infrastructure, adhering to security best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in PaaS technologies.
- Engage with vendors and the community to learn about new features and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to the architecture.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to boost the PaaS ecosystem.
- Conduct pilot testing and design various types of tests (functional, load, etc.).
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for both new and live environments.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on PaaS solutions best practices to engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
- Over 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing private cloud stacks.
- Advanced knowledge of Data Center network design and related technologies (OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, VLAN/VxLAN).
- Expertise in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies, especially Open Virtual Network (OVN) and CNIs.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing principles (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience with OpenStack and Kubernetes, including design, deployment, and management of clusters.
- Familiarity with identity services like RedHat SSO, Keycloak, WSO2, and others.
- Knowledge of distributed messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, along with experience in ETL and data platforms.
- Proficiency in designing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
- Strong hands-on experience in SQL and NoSQL database management.
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Knowledge of architectural frameworks and methodologies, including TOGAF and Zachman, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Proven track record in successfully completing large-scale infrastructure projects focused on PaaS.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Openness to continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
- Relevant certifications in cloud computing, virtualization, container technologies, and systems architecture are advantageous.
