About the Job
The Technical Project Manager will oversee the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) workstream within a large and complex Technology program. This role will report to the Program Director and PMO, ensuring the seamless delivery of software and service-enabling projects. The position demands a robust background in cloud technologies, top-notch project management capabilities, and the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Core42 is a national-scale enabler for cloud and generative AI in the UAE, combining expertise across various technology disciplines into a single platform for public sector and large enterprise transformations. Leveraging capabilities as a sovereign cloud and HPC specialist, Core42 aims to bring generative AI, cybersecurity, and professional services to enable national-scale program deployments across diverse industries.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans for IaaS and PaaS projects, leading execution and ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Monitor and control project progress while adjusting as necessary to meet objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating regular project meetings to provide status updates and address issues, ensuring clear communication and alignment among all parties.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans while proactively resolving conflicts and escalating issues when necessary.
- Resource Management: Coordinate resource allocation across the IaaS and PaaS workstreams, managing team members and fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk registers. Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Program Director and PMO, ensuring compliance with Core42 policies and procedures.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance in cloud infrastructure and platform services while staying updated with industry trends in IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- PMO Collaboration: Align project goals with the overall program strategy and objectives defined by the PMO. Implement PMO standards and provide feedback to continuously improve project management processes.
Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in project management within the technology sector, specifically in cloud infrastructure and platform projects.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Previous experience within a consulting organization is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, including IaaS and PaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Proven track record of managing large and complex transformation projects from initiation to completion, ideally within a PMO structure.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
- Strong understanding of business and commercial aspects of a cloud organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present at Board and C-level.
