About the Job
The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. As a key member of the agile development process, this role focuses on building the continuous integration and continuous deployment pipeline while prioritizing development items. The Engineer is tasked with developing Proof-of-Concepts to evaluate the feasibility of software applications and tools, determining specifications and features based on user needs and feedback. They will continuously integrate code changes, conduct automated testing to ensure functionality, and manage software application version releases.
This position requires collaboration with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototype and architect solutions, execute test plans, perform quality reviews, manage operations, and address operational issues. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to constant changes in business goals, strategies, and emerging technologies. Proficiency in necessary programming languages and familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools, as well as automated testing and configuration management tools, are essential. Knowledge of crypto primitives, authentication protocols, and authorization standards is also required.
Responsibilities
- Determine software application and feature enhancement requirements based on business needs and user feedback.
- Gather, analyze, and document client needs and business requirements.
- Formulate solutions, alternatives, and design specifications that support business and technical objectives.
- Analyze client operations to identify strengths and weaknesses and uncover opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business and technical requirements into test cases, test scenarios, and scripts.
- Build IT solutions to meet business requirements and develop reusable components.
- Develop program codes and logic for existing and new software applications and tools.
- Document methods and procedures for routine maintenance.
- Perform security vulnerability assessments and automated testing to maintain software functionality.
- Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment.
- Evaluate existing applications and platforms, proposing recommendations for performance improvements.
- Conduct knowledge transfers to production support teams.
- Address existing gaps in system observability and monitoring independently manage escalations.
- Lead resolutions of critical bugs or incidents related to their area of expertise.
- Enforce compliance with necessary information security policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally recognized institution.
Years & Nature of Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated competencies.
- Experience as a specialist individual contributor or team lead with project management experience.
- Skills in team or technical supervision.
- Proven expertise in managing complex technical activities.
Technical Competencies:
- Analytical troubleshooting and programming.
- Configuration management and software configuration.
