About the Job
As a Test Automation Engineer at Deriv, you'll be based in our dynamic office located in Dubai's Business Bay, an area celebrated for its ultramodern architecture, luxury shopping, and vibrant lifestyle. In this role, you’ll contribute to our global operations by developing robust automation scripts for web, mobile, API, and backend systems. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with developers to incorporate new features into the automation strategy, aiming to support frequent, reliable releases while minimizing human error through precise machine execution. Your automation scripts will serve as a crucial safety net, identifying bugs and ensuring a seamless user experience across our platforms. Ultimately, your efforts will enhance the overall quality and confidence in the development process.
Your Challenges and Mission
- Revolutionize our test automation landscape: You will take the lead in creating flawless automation scripts that integrate seamlessly across web, mobile, and API applications, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
- Be the visionary: You're expected to not only propose innovative solutions but also bring them to life. You will make informed recommendations that keep our test automation at the cutting edge.
- Craft excellence: Address complex software scenarios, regression tests, bug retests, and negative tests to ensure comprehensive coverage and integrity in testing.
- Foster collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and key stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and smoothness of our testing protocols.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Keep the company at the forefront of technology by researching and adopting the latest tools and methodologies in the testing landscape, including low-code platforms and AI-driven tools.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in writing automated test scripts using technologies such as Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, or Robot framework.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of technical education, training, and experience.
- Proficiency in CI/CD practices and tools like CircleCI, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Action.
- Strong analytical mindset with an intrinsic drive to pinpoint root causes and streamline processes.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
What’s Good To Have
- Experience in the fintech industry.
- Familiarity with agile project management frameworks.
- Technical skills outside of test automation, such as Linux system or database administration.
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, or Alicloud.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Shell Scripting, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Perl.
- Knowledge of low-code or AI-based automation tools, such as Autify, Testim, or Katalon Studio.
