The Information Systems Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert responsible for delivering enterprise-level IT support and maintenance of various IT services within the organization. The role is crucial for leveraging engineering tools and processes for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of company infrastructure and systems. This position requires independent work, utilizing troubleshooting skills to research and resolve medium- to complex issues.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain new hardware or software to provide new services or resolve user and system problems.
- Perform troubleshooting and system analysis to resolve incidents and ensure system availability.
- Conduct system administration tasks including configuration, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
- Test and validate new systems to ensure they meet requested functionality and quality.
- Implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure availability.
- Perform system monitoring proactively, collecting metrics and logs as needed.
- Execute hardware or software upgrades and patching for vulnerability and risk management.
- Manage changes within the Change Management Process.
- Create and maintain system documentation, detailing fixes and modifications.
- Manage tickets for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, and Request Fulfilment.
- Collaborate with vendors or other delivery organizations to deliver effective support.
- Identify and suggest potential service improvements.
- Document work results, actions taken, steps to resolve, effort, and resolution time.
- Work with senior team members for guidance on working procedures and technical possibilities.
Required Knowledge and Attributes:
- Knowledge of infrastructure technology or Software, Office 365, Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting with a strong technical understanding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical content to senior leadership.
- Understanding of ITIL support processes (Incident, Change, and Request Management).
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution.
- Skills to work collaboratively across business areas/functions.
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines, prioritizing workload effectively.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
- Microsoft Certifications preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in IT Systems.
