The Security Engineer L1 is an entry-level subject matter expert responsible for facilitating problem resolution and mentoring the overall team. This role involves performing operational security tasks such as performance and availability monitoring, log monitoring, and security incident detection and response, as well as security event reporting and content maintenance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a 24/7 team on rotational shifts.
- Collaborate with the Platform and Content Engineering teams for tunings, stakeholder requests, and reporting.
- Administer the organization's security tools to gather security logs from the environment.
- Manage the lifecycle of supported security tools/technologies, including break-fix, patching, and live updates.
- Adhere to SOPs and communicate log flow/log format issues to stakeholders.
- Document best practices and identify opportunities for automations to assist the incident response team.
- Handle security incidents through various methods including Endpoint Protection and Enterprise Detection tools, attack analysis, malware analysis, and network and computer forensics.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- Entry-level understanding of SIEM or security tools/technologies.
- Familiarity with security architecture across various security technologies.
- Customer service-oriented with proactive thinking.
- Strong problem-solving ability and self-organization skills.
- Attention to detail and good analytical and logical thinking.
- Team player with capabilities to collaborate effectively with others.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA) preferred.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., AZ-500, SC-200, Security+, CEH) are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- Entry-level experience in security technologies (e.g., Firewall, IPS, IDS, Proxy).
- Experience in technical support, diagnosis, and troubleshooting within security environments.
- Experience in Security Operations Center (SOC)/Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) operations.
- Familiarity with handling security incidents end-to-end and security engineering.
