The primary role of the Senior Technical Software Engineer - IBM Maximo is to support in driving and implementing software engineering strategies, standards, and guidelines in the assigned feature team. You will collaborate with the team to develop business-critical technical solutions through the application of software programming, robust engineering practices, and built-in quality. Responsibilities include planning/estimation, application development, deployment, release, hyper-care, and operation of developed solutions, providing technical leadership in the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to deliver technical design, development, and deployment of complex solutions within relevant products.
- Drive the adoption of engineering practices, implement development process automation, lean software development, built-in quality, test-driven development, agile practices, and timely root cause analysis.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to determine the viability of solutions.
- Evaluate current problems, future requirements, and existing solutions in medium to large projects to enable high-level design and drive proof-of-concepts.
- Investigate, debug, and fix complex issues involving corner cases and rare conditions.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies.
- Manage and mentor Software Engineers, facilitating skill/knowledge development through coaching and training opportunities.
Requirements
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Functional knowledge of IBM Maximo Asset Management version 7.6.
- Extending Maximo applications through automation scripting, Java classes, and JSP for mobile applications.
- Maximo integration technologies such as Object structures, services, channels, etc.
- Application Lifecycle Management activities including version control, integration, data import, testing, and deployment.
- Strong understanding of Oracle 19c and above versions.
- Strong lean/agile development and systems analytical skills.
