Technical Product Owners (TPO) are the “front door” to multiple product engineering teams, owning the backlogs of work spread across feature, function, non-functional (NFR), BAU, Technical Debt, spikes, and ceremonies. Leading and empowering their teams, the TPO acts as a “voice of the customer”, partnering with business counterparts to lead the lifecycle for designated technology products and the underlying applications in their domain. They are accountable for enabling the business to achieve their objectives & strategic outcomes from concept through to operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a part of our Product community, focusing on collaboration cross-functionally with engineering, delivery, architecture, and business partners, and identifying opportunities of improvement and growth.
  • Analyse business functionality changes and determine features and stories that clearly articulate the full range of amendments/enhancements that need to be done to both vendor and in-house systems.
  • Own the entire lifecycle of the Product and drive product development through your engineering and scrum teams.
  • Write and refine user stories, prioritise backlogs, manage release activities and support sprint ceremonies.
  • Define detailed use cases, product requirements, and technical specs needed to support roadmap initiatives.
  • Set product objectives, define success metrics and deliver business outcomes, ensuring KPIs and targets are met.
  • Continuously innovate and iterate as you deliver your roadmap in order to provide the best product and solutions possible.
  • Deliver world-class user journeys that our customers value.
  • Document process flows to illustrate to-be states and changes to information flow.
  • Conduct discoveries/feasibilities that potentially lead to RFI/RFT with the ability to manage those to conclusion with detailed vendor evaluations.
  • Engage, drive, and manage vendor priorities and activities pertaining to your prioritised backlog.

Qualifications & Experience
This job might be for you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (12+ 3 years or equivalent) in Operations Research, Marketing Science, Information Systems, e-Commerce, or a combination of industry certification and 5+ years of relevant experience in Global Product (CSPO/SAFe/PSPO) trained and certified.
  • 2+ years practical experience of working as a Product Owner/Manager, in a team-facing capacity, with a proven record of driving discernible change and delivery, at pace.
  • Some experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework, across multiple initiatives and circa 50+ teams (not essential).
  • Demonstrated technical or domain expertise, utilizing a depth and breadth of knowledge and practical experience within a specific domain or technical area.
  • Experience in any of the following domains:
    • Loyalty Backend systems and APIs
    • Native/Hybrid mobile apps, preferably loyalty mobile apps
    • Management of vendors and external teams
    • Well-versed with the tools for the Product Management aspects of software delivery
  • Strong and concise communicator at peer, line, and stakeholder levels.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and team members.
  • Appetite for building and identifying value, with a customer-centric mindset.
