About the Job
In this position, you will work closely with clients to help define and establish geospatial-centric solutions to enhance their success and broaden the effect of GIS technology on their business. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the evolution of the platform by identifying new implementation patterns. As a Senior Consultant, you will provide solutions and thought leadership while promoting the use of Esri technology, enabling customer success and facilitating growth into new domains through collaboration with industry experts.
You will join a talented cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate Consultants and Project Managers tasked with delivering solutions that empower our customers to make a meaningful impact in communities around the world. This role is part of the Professional Services division, which serves as the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We deliver transformational solutions to high-profile clients globally by breaking into new markets and pushing the boundaries of technology.
Responsibilities
- Oversee complex and strategic GIS programs that include multiple engagements and stakeholder teams.
- Collaborate with both Esri and the customer’s senior-level stakeholders to set program goals that align with organizational strategies.
- Monitor engagement outputs and outcomes, working closely with stakeholders to implement changes and ensure delivery of program benefits.
- Serve as a primary contact for escalations regarding program-related matters.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders to discuss program status and goals, manage diverse interests, and resolve complex issues.
- Produce accurate and timely reports on program status throughout its life cycle.
- Analyze program risks and create risk mitigation plans.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in a similar role with related responsibilities.
- Professional experience in program management, strategic consulting, and IT implementation patterns.
- Ability to engage with executive-level leadership and manage large-scale proposals effectively.
- Proven experience in project management along with strong professional presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive problem solver, team-oriented, and creative with an entrepreneurial attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment and translate customer business goals into actionable solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
Recommended Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar field in North America or Europe.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled applications, and spatial analysis.
- Experience in GIS project management and knowledge of software engineering/application development principles.
- Understanding of current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification is a plus.
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
