About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Applications Manager to join our dynamic IT team, responsible for managing, overseeing, and supporting our internal business applications. This position leads the design, development, testing, planning, budgeting, and implementation of complex systems and services that impact numerous employees and internal stakeholders. The role involves working closely with project sponsors, business and technical partners, subject matter experts, end users, technical resources (both internal and third-party vendors), senior management, and executives to ensure that the needs of business users are met and continuous improvement is maintained.
This role is ideal for those with strong IT skills, focusing on technical issues, possessing a solid understanding of current hardware and software processes, and an eye on emerging products. An understanding of the overall business operations coupled with the ability to anticipate business needs while managing time effectively under pressure is essential. Candidates who are curious and analytical will thrive in this environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage an application portfolio and associated projects for various internal applications, both on-premise and in the cloud.
  • Identify opportunities for application optimization, redesign, or process improvement, particularly for collaboration systems and internal tools.
  • Research, procure, and manage software applications contributing to the company’s success.
  • Lead and manage the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of tools and systems, ensuring their effective use across departments.
  • Establish protocols for software applications to ensure ease of use for internal business users.
  • Oversee upgrades for servers, hardware, and software, and report on operational issues to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage financial budgets for specific projects and day-to-day operations within departments.
  • Lead vendor teams and internal teams during project implementations and support phases.
  • Ensure seamless integration of applications from different vendors through testing and coordination.
  • Create and maintain process flows, descriptions, and data flow diagrams in collaboration with business, vendors, developers, and IT infrastructure teams.
  • Lead internal business system implementations, requirements gathering, and documentation, resolving all functional-related issues.
  • Manage a team of internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies that significantly mitigate risks.
  • Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders and external contractors, providing continuous improvement through follow-up meetings and engagement processes.
  • Drive consistency in system implementations and align with internal IT service and project policies.

Computer/Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Java platforms, website and web content management, Dot Net framework, and software development.
  • Experience with open-source platforms for web and mobile applications and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, AWS, CRM, APIs, and integrations.
  • Knowledge in data modeling and modern architecture concepts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, web design, or related fields.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an Applications Manager or similar role, preferably supporting SaaS applications.
  • A minimum of 2 years of vendor management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with application implementations, enhancements, and systems design.
