About the Job
The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in our development team, responsible for ensuring the smooth deployment and operation of our software solutions. This role focuses on the integration and automation of software development and deployment processes, facilitating continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure management.
G42, based in Abu Dhabi, is an artificial intelligence and cloud computing company delivering holistic and scalable AI solutions across various commercial and government sectors. Our operations span multiple industries including Healthcare, Government, Smart City & Smart Mobility, Oil & Gas, Fintech, Geospatial, Aviation, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, and Sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage and optimize cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure for performance and security.
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to integrate DevOps practices into the development process.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for development and production environments.
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay updated with emerging DevOps trends and technologies.
- Continuously improve system automation and deployment processes.
- Comply with Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management, and Governance policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a DevOps role, with recent start-up experience viewed favorably.
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work full-time in our Abu Dhabi office, with some travel (about 30%).
- Passion for AI and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
- Proficiency in the Russian language is an added advantage.
