Job Summary:

We are actively searching for an accomplished engineer to assume the integral role of Principal Engineer - System Architecture. As a key member of the System Design department, the Principal Engineer is entrusted with the responsibility of providing advanced technical expertise in System Engineering (SE) and Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools. This pivotal position involves guiding System Engineers in the development of requirement baselines, functional architectures, physical architectures, and verification and testing plans. The Principal Engineer - System Architecture plays a critical role in shaping the system design processes and ensuring the effective utilization of cutting-edge tools and methodologies within our organization.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the acquisition of System Engineering (SE) tools, including both Requirement Management & SE and Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), to enhance the capabilities of the System Engineering team.
  • Engage in extensive training on SE and MBSE tools to become a master user, ensuring in-depth knowledge and proficiency.
  • Provide support to System Engineers (SE) in the development of requirement baselines, functional architecture, physical architectures, and verification and testing plans, utilizing both SE and MBSE tools.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions and offer ongoing technical support to System Engineers in the effective utilization of SE and MBSE tools.
  • Evaluate and monitor the usage of SE and MBSE tools to ensure optimal benefits, staying informed about the latest advances in the field.
  • Demonstrate mastery in SE and MBSE tools, particularly Requirement Management & SE, to drive efficient and effective engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with System Engineers to refine and develop requirement baselines, ensuring clarity, precision, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Lead the creation of robust functional architectures and physical architectures, providing guidance to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
  • Contribute to the formulation of comprehensive verification and testing plans, ensuring they are rigorous, reliable, and aligned with project goals, utilizing both SE and MBSE tools.
  • Evaluate and optimize the utilization of SE and MBSE tools, ensuring they are leveraged to their fullest potential to benefit the System Engineering team.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to the System Architecture team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Drive initiatives to continually enhance System Design processes and methodologies, incorporating the latest advancements in SE and MBSE tools and keeping abreast of industry best practices.

Experience & Education Qualifications: Minimum: Minimum of 10 years of experience in System Architecture, with a focus on missile systems. Demonstrated proficiency in Requirement Management & System Engineering tools.

Preferred: 12+ years of experience in System Architecture in a missile production company. Certification in relevant System Engineering tools and methodologies.

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering or related field
