Position

A pivotal leadership role responsible for managing and overseeing the HP & DELL EMC HCI, HP Azure Stack, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix NetScaler, VMware ESXi, Windows Servers, and patching (BigFix) processes within a designated cluster or department.

This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background, strategic vision, and excellent leadership skills to ensure the reliability, security, and compliance of the infrastructure environment in accordance with banking industry standards and regulations.

Key Result Areas

  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, and mentorship to the infrastructure team within the designated cluster, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for team members, and provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans and roadmaps for infrastructure initiatives within the cluster, aligning with the business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines of the banking sector.
  • Evaluate current infrastructure capabilities, identify areas for improvement, and recommend technology investments, upgrades, or enhancements to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting the banking sector, and assess their potential impact on the infrastructure landscape.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix NetScaler, VMware ESXi, and patching processes within the cluster, ensuring adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs), security policies, and operational standards.
  • Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response mechanisms to proactively identify and address infrastructure issues, minimize downtime, and optimize system performance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with industry standards, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • As part of BAU, should be able to manage AMC renewals and must possess excellent knowledge in managing Capex & Opex budget.
  • Must have extensive expertise in managing RFP (Request for Proposal) processes to assess and choose IT infrastructure Solutions.
  • Responsible for managing annual infrastructure budgets with excellent knowledge in managing Capex & Opex.
  • Responsible for infrastructure, security, audit, risk, incident & SLA management, architecture, human resources including engagement, capacity planning, project delivery, vendor management & outsource related to the team.
  • Cost Savings/Avoidance/Innovation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement patch management policies, procedures, and schedules to ensure timely identification, testing, and deployment of security patches, updates, and hotfixes across all infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to assess, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities, security risks, and compliance gaps within the cluster's infrastructure environment.
  • Conduct regular security audits, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, and implement remediation measures, as necessary.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across various business units, IT departments, regulatory agencies, and external partners, serving as a trusted advisor on infrastructure-related matters.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management, providing updates on infrastructure performance, risks, and strategic initiatives, and soliciting feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in infrastructure management, preferably within the banking or financial services sector, with a focus on HP & DELL EMC hardware, Citrix, VMware, Hp Azure Stack, Windows Servers, and patching processes.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, security standards, and risk management principles applicable to the banking sector, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and local banking regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic and regulated environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving, risk assessment, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends shaping the future of banking infrastructure.
  • Fifteen years plus experience is preferred.
