Position

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up, and perform hardware deployments. In addition, you will perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment, as well as carry out hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your understanding of Data Center standard processes and procedures, develop mentoring skills while providing guidance to peers, and familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures. You will play a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. This role supports services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work shifts, including assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, quickly identify causes of issues, and replace faulty components with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks, ensuring proper setup according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
  • Complete required training aligned to the role and workload; gain hands-on experience through observation.
  • Share information with others to contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Take accountability for service quality, ensuring user satisfaction; embody Microsoft's culture and values.
