Position

Microsoft has an immediate opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced government affairs professional to join the Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) team in the United Arab Emirates as a Government Affairs manager. The successful candidate will report to the Middle East CELA Lead. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Work Conditions

Responsibilities

  • Strategy/Policy Program Management: Advocate for and manage policy issues (e.g., social, political, legal, technical) and lead the company’s engagement with senior internal stakeholders related to government affairs.
  • Policy Program Development: Shape and contribute to Microsoft's policy agenda in the UAE, addressing complex governmental issues and business priorities.
  • Issue Resolution: Advise on and respond to key strategic issues and recommend prioritized actions.
  • External Communication: Direct and align complex or conflicting policy with Microsoft's goals and strategies to enhance company reputation.
  • External Relationships: Develop a network of relations and influence partnerships to achieve desired regulatory and legislative outcomes.
  • Internal Collaboration: Advocate for and manage policy issues and lead Microsoft's engagement with internal stakeholders related to government affairs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy, or government.
  • OR 6+ years of experience in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy, or government.
  • Significant experience in policy development or government affairs in relevant organizations.
  • Preferred: 5+ years experience in developing and managing strategic relationships to advocate and influence public policy priorities.
  • Familiarity with policy and regulatory challenges in the technology industry in the UAE.
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills in English and Arabic.
