About the Job
As a Technology Specialist specializing in AI Application Development, you will be a technical solution expert within our worldwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) commercial solution area, collaborating with strategic customers to develop AI projects. Your role will focus on accelerating and scaling Microsoft’s share of the AI market by utilizing the latest front and back-end development technologies to implement Azure AI, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure ML led solutions within prototype applications.
You will support our AI Specialists in prototyping and developing AI-powered application experiences that demonstrate the value of AI within customer organizations, ultimately aiding them in making technical decisions to advance to production initiatives. This involves leveraging the Azure Data and Apps portfolio alongside Azure AI to rapidly showcase the benefits of these AI solutions.
In particular, you will focus on creating proof of concept applications that utilize Cognitive Services and Azure OpenAI Services to develop Generative AI-powered applications and enhance broader AI portfolio capabilities, thereby illustrating the value of pertinent business use cases for your customers.
This position is part of our Global Black Belt (GBB) organization, consisting of specialized technical professionals who collaborate with customers to enable complex and innovative solutions, providing differentiated technical leadership and guidance. The AI team within GBB comprises Specialists and Technology experts who focus on specific domains, industries, and workloads, including Azure OpenAI Services, Azure AI Services, Application Development, and Machine Learning.
Travel to customer sites may be required.
Responsibilities
- Win new AI application development engagements through solution expertise, demonstrating technical and business value via workshops for business and technical decision-makers.
- Collaborate with the solution specialist team to identify, qualify, and strategize business opportunities, resolving technical objections.
- Provide in-depth AI expertise to support technical relationships with Azure customers, including product briefings, demo creation, and proof-of-concept development.
- Design application architectural requirements and develop prototypes for prioritized AI use cases.
- Evaluate and select suitable Cloud Native and Power Platform low code options for front and back-end technologies.
- Define application scalability, capacity design, and ensure data security and privacy.
- Advise customers on integrating AI accelerators into their cloud strategies, recommending migration paths, integration strategies, and application architectures that utilize Azure AI optimized infrastructure.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR
- Equivalent experience.
- AI Experience: 3+ years of experience in Full stack development and selling enterprise public cloud-based solutions.
- Technical expert on AI/Cognitive Services.
- Solution Consulting Experience: 3+ years in customer-facing advisory or pre-sales roles, demonstrating the ability to connect technical concepts to business outcomes.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and skills with Azure Application and AI services.
- Knowledge of large language model (LLM) and foundational model APIs.
- Familiarity with the open-source application ecosystem.
- Certifications in Azure Application Services or equivalent industry certifications preferred.
