The main goal of Microsoft Technology Specialists (TS) is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use Microsoft technology and cloud services, including databases, Analytics (such as Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric), and the Azure AI Platform. The TS role is expected to help customers' technical evaluators and decision-makers make sound decisions while identifying new opportunities for sales specialists to pursue. As a TS, you'll work within a virtual team of technical, partner, and consulting resources to educate customers at a technical level, demonstrate solutions, and win the technical decision, enabling the team to achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets in your accounts.

Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions with customers using consultative sales methodology to understand their needs and demonstrate how Microsoft solutions can meet those needs.
- Build technical strategy by mapping customer vision into actionable plans, resolving concerns, and validating strong business cases for investment.
- Drive technical assessments to map current landscapes and develop solid migration and modernization plans.
- Design solutions that align with customer needs using technical knowledge and architecture skills.
- Conduct proof of concepts (POCs) and pilots to create momentum for minimum viable products (MVPs) and integrate key AI technologies.
- Identify new opportunities during customer engagements and act as a trusted advisor to address technical pain points with viable solutions.
- Provide insights and best practices to engineering teams to address blockers and drive product improvements.
- Maintain and grow expertise in Data Modernization, Analytics & Data warehousing scenarios, and AI technologies while keeping up to date with market trends.
- Collaborate with partners, facilitating resources and supporting technical capacities to enhance customer experience.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of relevant experience, or
- Equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data and analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, MongoDB, AWS, GCP) and their financial performance and messaging.
- Experience leveraging partner solutions to meet customer needs and scale opportunities.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to foster relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a track record of effective technical presentations.
- Proficient with SQL, NoSQL databases, and programming languages (e.g., Scala, Python).
- Experience in the GenAI landscape (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Anthropic, Google Gemini).
