Role Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager for our IT Infrastructure Operations team. The ideal candidate will lead a team responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and efficiency in IT operations.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for IT infrastructure operations to support the organization's business objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms, to meet current and future business needs.
  • Manage the configuration, administration, and maintenance of servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and storage systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Maintain and optimize network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to support secure and seamless connectivity across the organization.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect IT assets, data, and systems from security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup and restore procedures, and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, service providers, and technology partners to ensure quality service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for IT infrastructure projects, resources, and operations, optimizing costs and resource allocation while maximizing ROI.
  • Monitor and analyse IT infrastructure performance, capacity, and usage trends, identifying opportunities for optimization, scalability, and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead incident response and problem resolution efforts, coordinating with cross-functional teams to address IT infrastructure issues, minimize impact, and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies, and prepare regular reports and performance metrics for senior management and stakeholders.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Strong technical expertise in server administration, network engineering, virtualization, storage systems, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks and best practices for IT service management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing IT infrastructure projects and initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP (Project Management Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or relevant vendor certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including 4-6 years in a leadership or managerial role.
