Research Project Title: Regaining Trust in Electronic Chips

Support for multiple capabilities and mixed technologies has increased the cost of ownership of advanced electronics chip manufacturing foundries. This project addresses the hardware security and trust issues associated with this globalization of Integrated Circuit (IC) design flow, which has introduced security vulnerabilities such as reverse engineering, malicious circuit modification, and Intellectual Property (IP) piracy.

The project aims to understand these vulnerabilities, survey existing solutions, and propose new ones. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting a literature survey for chip design flow and the latest hardware security and trust solutions.
• Devising and implementing new design-for-trust techniques.
• Performing simulations and experimentation for security/cost assessment.

Location: Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: On-site, Full-time

Essential Qualifications:

• At least a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a background in data structures and algorithms, logic design, and programming.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Coding experience in major software projects (C/C programming language).
• Familiarity with the IC design flow and electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
• Background in VLSI design and CAD.
