Research Assistant

The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Control Laboratory (RISC) at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Research Assistant position to develop specialized Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The successful applicant will work on the development of specialized UAVs and Uncrewed Ground Vehicles (UGVs), integrating on-board computer sensors and actuators, with the aim of enhancing operational capabilities for aerial and ground movement.

Safety features such as redundant autopilots, RGB-D cameras, parachutes, GPS-RTK, HD-video transmission, and long-distance communications will be incorporated into the platform. Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, along with experience in embedded systems, mechatronics, or robotics. Preference will be given to those with expertise in autonomous robots, Robot Operating Systems, Ardupilot, Solidworks, or Gazebo Physics Engine Simulator.
