Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Network and Security Engineer is to provide technical support to NTT clients. This role involves compiling technical specifications clearly and concisely to communicate the advantages and disadvantages of different options leading to a final solution. The engineer must also develop alternative solutions as backup plans. While working towards professional to expert level certification, this role demands the development of business knowledge. A minimum of 8 to 9 years of experience in a similar role within the UAE/GCC is required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients onsite and remotely to meet complex solution requirements.
  • Escalate unresolved problems and issues to relevant third parties.
  • Respond to escalated client requests and support client applications to achieve first-line resolution.
  • Write reports, proposals, and maintain project documentation.
  • Document standard operating procedures related to installations and fixes.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to junior Implementation Engineers and Technicians.
  • Coordinate the activities of junior Engineers aligned with performance targets.
  • Participate in higher complexity design work, providing input as required.
  • Take ownership of relevant technologies according to domain or specialization.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computing, or a related field.
  • Professional-level certification in various networking technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, F5, CCNP, JNCIS, ACMP, CISSP, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • CCIE certification (optional).

Required Experience:

  • Substantial experience in technical implementation engineering, focusing on Networking technologies.
  • Experience engaging with clients and conducting presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless, SDI distribution, core, and access layers.
  • Experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Additional Requirements:

  • Thorough hands-on experience with FortiGate, Palo Alto NGFWs, F5 Load Balancers, and Web Application Firewalls.
  • Practical knowledge of Cisco Nexus Switching, ACI Fabric, OSPF Routing, Static and PBR.
  • Solid understanding of micro-segmentation concepts.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on AWS, Azure Private Cloud Networking, and Cloud Security techniques.
  • Proficiency with SDWAN products and services, preferably Cisco Meraki.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Transformation Initiatives and manage IT Service Delivery ownership.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, regulatory, business continuity, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain high availability of network and network security infrastructure in data centers, disaster recovery, and private cloud environments.
  • Foster healthy relationships with regional vendors and ISPs.
  • Contribute to Knowledge and Error Database (KEDB), SOPs, process/policy documentation.
  • Participate in regular disaster recovery and patch management exercises.
  • Mentor junior Engineers within the team.
