About the Job
Oracle’s Cloud Data Center Operations team is building and supporting new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a widely distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.

As a Site Lead for Oracle Data Centers, you will report into the Datacenter Manager and act as the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Center Environment. You will maintain operational aspects and be recognized as a ‘technical expert’ focused on core Data Center infrastructure. Your role will involve troubleshooting and solving complex infrastructure issues, proactively monitoring the customer environment, making recommendations to resolve system errors and performance issues, and creating comprehensive technical documentation. You will also enable process improvements and automation for simplification, execute small projects independently, and work with management to plan and execute larger local projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the intricacies of Data Centers within your designated region.
  • Conduct audits for power and mechanical capacity and oversee upgrades.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) for design-related issues.
  • Liaise with local colocation partners to synchronize site utility requisites.
  • Offer after-hours support as necessary.
  • Manage rack deliveries and installations to ensure compliance with 5s standards.
  • Work with the build team on block expansion for future capacity needs.
  • Manage tasks via internal tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and adherence to SOPs.
  • Assess and prioritize incoming and open tickets based on severity.
  • Collaborate with project teams and colocation partners to validate the functionality of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Facilitate operational support encompassing failure mode analysis, maintenance assistance, best practices, and procedural reviews.

Preferred Experience

  • 5-12 years of Data Center infrastructure Operations support and server administration experience in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems).
  • Incident management experience with a focus on resolving electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Proficiency in areas such as power capacity allocation, systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers), and data center design best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and effective relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • CNET CDCDP or CDCMP certification.
  • 5+ years of enterprise data center experience.
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and structured cabling.
