Data Center Technician

The Data Center Technician position involves IT infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems). The role requires experience with data center M&E equipment and the ability to work in a "mission-critical operations" environment. Candidates should demonstrate a drive to identify and solve customer problems, and be available for on-call duties. The position necessitates lifting up to 25Kg and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration
• Basic knowledge of data center design and operations
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English
• Strong customer service orientation
• Experience with systems administration for Linux and/or Windows Servers
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP)
• Experience in structured cabling and hardware repair

Work Conditions

• On-call responsibilities, with the ability to reach the Data Center site within approximately 60 minutes
• Physical demands including the ability to lift up to 25Kg
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and engage in additional on-premise work at customer locations if required

Responsibilities

• Act as a hardware support expert liaison to technical and non-technical teams
• Understand internal customer problems and provide timely technical solutions
• Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of production server hardware
• Involvement with the design and commissioning of new whitespaces
• Adhere to defined Health & Safety processes at all times
