About the Job
Presight is seeking a proficient and qualified Data Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The Data Engineer will be responsible for assessing, analyzing, and working with data concepts, use-cases, and complex new data sources to provide business insights to customers. This role involves supporting the implementation and integration of data sources into the Presight AI platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solve challenging problems using Python coding skills.
- Design, build, and launch new data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes in production.
- Conduct web crawling, data cleaning, data annotation, ingestion, and processing.
- Read and collate complex data sets.
- Create and maintain data pipelines with a focus on process improvement to drive efficiency and productivity within the team.
- Utilize programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL, Elasticsearch, and Shell to build optimal data infrastructure.
- Provide insights into key business performance metrics by developing analytical tools that utilize the data pipeline.
- Support wider business data needs on an ad-hoc basis.
- Comply with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as data governance policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
- 3+ years of programming experience with solid coding skills in Python, Shell, and Java.
- Experience with web crawling, data cleaning, solution architecture, data ingestion, query optimization, ETL, ELT, and cloud services like AWS and Azure.
- Working knowledge of data platform concepts including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time processing architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as understanding data relationships and both structured and unstructured data.
- Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques in statistical modeling, text mining, and information retrieval.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for continuous improvement and problem-solving.
